Thursday 10th January 2013 – Ross Littlewood, a young man with Asperger’s Syndrome, will talk about his experience of growing up and living with AS.

It is that time of year again! …Raffle time! 
After the success of last years raffle we are doing it all again this year. Tickets are available now for members to sell to friends and family. They can be collected from the office at St Mary’s Church Monday to Wednesday between 10 am and 2pm or any ACCT activities. Starting in January, ACCT are running bouldering sessions for children aged 5 to 12 at the Climbing Works, off Abbeydale Road.

 

Bouldering is like climbing, but on a much shorter wall, which means climbing ropes don’t need to be used. Instead the floor is heavily padded. The young people will be doing the activity in small groups with qualified instructors and ACCT staff on hand to offer support.

 

To express interest in this activity please call Emma on 07527 824034. Places for bouldering will be allocated in early January, so if your child is interested in this activity, please sign up with Emma by January 1^st 2013.

 

 

On Friday January 4^th ACCT Youth Club are going on a trip to the National Media Museum in Bradford. The museum is full of interactive exhibits which celebrate film, media, animation, television and photography.

We are meeting at St Marys at 9.30am, for a 10.00am start, and we will return to St Marys at about 5.30pm.

The trip will be followed by a Media Club, starting on January 16^th and running every fortnight until March. This is the alternate week to Teenager Club. The club will be run from 7pm to 9pm. At the sessions the young people will get the chance to try out some of the things they saw at the museum, and use the trip as inspiration for their own projects! Activities will include film, drama, music and animation.

Young people can attend just the trip, just the club, or both the trip or the club. This is a staffed trip so parents do not need to attend. It is essential to book a place for both the trip and the club. To book, please speak to Emma or call on 07527 824034.

ACCT would like to thank The Sportsman Rock Bar for hosting a fundraising event, ACCT Rocks Rebels Reunion on November 17th raising a huge £415.92! 

Thankyou also to ACCT fundraiser and member Marianne Hinchliffe for volunteering so much time into getting this event organised and advertised. Well done to all the volunteers who made cakes and volunteered at the event. It was a huge success and we hope to arrange more in the future.
